There are three levels of electric vehicle charging: Levels 1, 2 and 3
Level 1 is the slowest charging level. It adds between 3 and 5 miles of range per hour. This kind of charger can be plugged into a regular 3-prong outlet.
Level 2 charging is faster than level one. It adds between 12 and 80 miles of range per hour. This charger can be used in homes as long as it has access to a high volt outlet such as a dyer or large kitchen appliance.
Level 3 chargers, also known as DC/Super Chargers are the highest level of charging. It adds between 3 to 20 Miles Per Minute. This charger is only found in public places such as malls, public parking lots, and grocery stores.
