Solar Battery Storage Incentives
Yes! Energy storage devices that have a rating of 3kWh or greater qualify for the federal Investment Tax Credit ICT). In August 2022, Congress passes the extension of the ITC to 2034. They also raised the 2022-2032 tax credit to 30%.
Here is the current breakdown for the dollar-for-dollar reduction in the amount of income tax you would otherwise owe:
2022-2032: 30% tax credit
2033: 26% tax credit
2034: 22% tax credit
The tax credit expires starting in 2035 unless Congress renews it.
